Since forming in Wales in the late 90s, Fatal Blow have remained one of those bands that never lost touch with the working-class roots of streetpunk. While plenty of Oi! bands fall into nostalgia or empty slogans, Fatal Blow have always carried a more grounded and honest approach. The Sharp End proves they still know exactly how to deliver it.
After a few quiet years, the band return with twelve tracks packed with melody, grit and proper pub-ready choruses. Musically the album mixes classic UK streetpunk with sharp guitar work and strong singalong hooks, while Cobley’s vocals keep everything raw and direct.

Tracks like Who Made You King, Rotten To The Core and Violent Times hit hard immediately, but the album stands out most through its themes. Fatal Blow tackle war, inequality, political corruption and social division without sounding preachy. No More War especially lands as one of the album’s strongest moments, carrying a clear anti-war message with genuine conviction.
There is a real sense of frustration running through the record, but also unity and class consciousness. Songs about deindustrialisation, migrant scapegoating and politicians serving themselves feel painfully current, giving the album more depth than many modern Oi! releases.
Production-wise, the band keep things rough enough to retain their street-level energy while still delivering memorable choruses. Even the UK Subs cover of Killer fits naturally into the flow.
The Sharp End is exactly what good streetpunk should be – direct, melodic, angry and honest. Fatal Blow sound sharper than ever.
